These questions always invoke a bit of nostalgic BS, so I'll take my turn, too. A Borland user since TP4 in 1986 (and various archaic things in the decade preceding that), I had already begun grudgingly using VB for Windows stuff in the early 90's (having found OWL altogether too cumbersome). I remember being absolutely desperate for Delphi 1's release. I got it the very day it was released downunder (from a trade show, from memory), and guess what - it came on a CD and, being early 90's, there was not a single CD-ROM drive anywhere in our (large corporate) office. Had to go to another company where a friend of mine worked to burn the dozen or so floppy disks from the CD using their giant, clunky network CD-ROM drive. What a buzz to finally get it running, though. I don't think I slept much for the next several days!
