Re: Microsoft Release VS2003 SP1

VS 2003 SP1. A 3-4 year old version, and only 1 service pack? How
many Updates did Delphi 7, 2005, 2006 have when it was still relevant?
I mean by now if people are still using VS 2003, perhaps they don't
need a service pack? I believe fixing bugs early on should be
considered better customer support, instead of fixing bugs to products
that should have been fixed years ago. While on the surface it may
look like good customer support to fix bugs for previous versions,
there is another way to look at it: why did it take so long?

will the DevCo will support old Delphi version when they released a
newer one?

I just becomes today when I knew that Hotfix 5 will not include with
TurboDelphi, seems Borland still with them :-(

DevCo are you listening? This is the type of customer service that
draws customers. This is part of why the last time I spent money of
DevTools, it was -NOT- Delphi.

DevCo needs to step up to the plate. Quit screwing us by making us
buy the latest version JUST to get bugs fixed.

We realize that you need to make money from sales, but that doesn't
mean you should toss us aside just because we didn't buy the latest
version. You should at least be support the last version or two.
D2K5 should have received much more attention that it did. We should
not have had to rely on "unofficial patches" released on the side by
your staff. They should have been official patches, and since you've
fixed some of the bugs in the new version that affect the old
version, we should be seeing those as well.

THis is certainly not a new problem. D5 was almost nothing but a bug
fix for D4. Upgrades to D6 and D7 were motivated, for myself and
others, primarilly by the need to have pressing IDE bugs fixed.

Do you know why your recent sales numbers dropped by 50 million
dollars? Simple - people like me have decided to break the cycle.

We want better customer service. If you want us to continue to invest
money into your product, We DESERVE better service.

The price drop for the single language Turbos is a step in the right
direction, but if you continue to toss customers aside just because
they don't upgrade according to your schedule, don't be surprised if
those customers also toss you aside.

Can you afford to have another 25,000 or more customers toss you aside
in return?

Invest in us, and we'll invest in you.
