Are we sure it is really better?

Typing something like "query", that kind of filter shows me every
kind of TXXXQuery available in the component palette; supposing I am
searching for a *TSQLQuery", I can filter dbExpress components
without any "stranger" component.

There is a "Simple Search" checkbox at the bottom of the dialog if you
prefer matching on the start of the string only. Plus I made two
suggestions to Andreas Hausladen who creates the DDevExtensions and a
few days later they were implemented in a new version. Great support.
