When I was a teenager I used to read the Readers Digest (but I didn't
inhale <g>). The condensed book one month was Confessions of a Lion Tamer,
and the one bit of wisdom from it that remains was that if you approach
the lion your are taming holding a chair by its back the lion looks at the
four legs and can't decide which one to attack so is in your power. [Do
not test this claim on a real lion <g>]

I feel the same wrt BDE: we keep our records (3,000 users, 50,000 'disk'
ships) on dBASE tables accessed via BDE and Delphi front ends. I know I
should be moving on but when I type BDE alternatives into Google and read
the conflicting claims I get transfixed like the lion.

A key advantage to us of sticking with DBFs is being able to mail-merge
from them.
