Exactly in year 2006 software doesn't dump ini files in the installation
folder but instead uses the registry so the program has its settings in
one place.
That statement is a couple years out of date. IIRC DotNet's preferred way of
handling configuration is to NOT use the OS registry, rather to use a
..config file.

Have you done it? I did and it was horrific I uninstalled the express
afterwards and it killed vs2005.. Perhaps the refcount of their installer
didnt work as expected!
I currently have VS6, VS2003, VS2005 and C#Express installed on my laptop
and typically have them all loaded and running at the same time...
