Is it their fault of that of the developers that produced software with developers in mind rather than users?
What if your car had been produced with mechanics and F1 drivers in mind?
After getting your pant dirty with oil, burnt your arm on a very hot unprotected exhaust pipe, and gotten a sore back on a hard suspension, you were told that *you* were an idiot because it was obvious you shouldn't have done this, or that, and that a sore back is just a necessary result of the efficient suspension you chose?
And no, the vendor didn't mislead you, as everyone that isn't an idiot should have been aware of those things when buying a car. And hey, you should be happy all the innards are so readily accessible, it opens up a lot of possibility for tweaking, upgrading and updating the car.
