No, it's continue in the sense that it runs the new code from where you
left it.

That's what I thought. What I'd like to see is a way to continue from a
specific point, so that once I have discovered my changes didn't work I
can reattempt them and not have to wait for that line of code to be
reached each time I test.

So if you could find an implementation of compile and continue you could
combine it with vmware and its snapshots?
