Re: There is no market for a Delphi for .NET compiler

Totally incorrect assumption. A malicious .NET application can be JUST
as damaging to a system as Win32.

I think this is a common misconception that MS has tried to push on
developers/(semi-)informed users. Apps will be no more secure than the
operating system that they run on, period.

I have ZERO need for .NET. I want to create utility programs, small things.
Maybe I am not DTG's ideal customer, but Win64 is key for me, then they can
do what they want. I am already looking at things like VS/Chrome because I
am sick of the delay with Borland. I cannot have delays like this.

I know this is not the place to ask, but... What development platforms are
you aware of that will cross-compile and are not tinker toys like realbasic?

The only REAL benefit I see from .NET is multi-platform. The ability to run
on Linux/MAC would be very cool! Personally, I would still prefer native
compilation rather than interpreted language.

If I can run the exact same app on a PDA/Phone/Windows/Linux, then where do
I sign up? :-)
