Re: The alternative Delphi roadmap to success

Well, it's expected that up to 10% of the Borland customers won't

that this group exists and my figures on that are valid ;)

The problem I have is your roadmap addresses concerns for *current*
customers, and addresses it quite well, but fails to push DevCo forward
far enough. As such the outcome would become quite predictable. You
started with a reference to a message from Nick on what is preventing you
from upgrading. Your plan would help the current customer base to upgrade
without question. I think a more relevent approach would be 'what prevents
you from trying BDS?'. This can not be answered within the restrictive
confines of a newsgroup filled with readers that have already invested.

But I guess even if it conflicts with your personal interests you'll
agree that if you are part of a minority, it's in Borland's interest to
focus a bit
on the majority again for a change, right?

To answer the yes you have to answer wether the roadmap is focused on
growth through upgrades or growth through new purchases. While your
roadmap is a boon for upgraders I feel it falls short on new purchases.
Both needs addressed.
