It was a manifestation. After VB3 appeared, the majority of new programs was written in VB. Even after I had demonstrated that releasing a VB3 program is equivalent to releasing ones source code - what fortunately changed in subsequent VB versions.
And VB was a milestone in writing Windows applications, without bothering with segments and other details of the machine.
