Completely unrelated issue. VCL and FCL use are not an either/or choice.

They are related because what they offer overlaps quite a bit.

JetBrains seems to be profitable, but I believe they are a private
company so we don't know. They are also based in Prague
and their R&D is based in St. Petersburg.

Doesn't seem to be a very convincing example to emulate then...

*shrug* It's essentially the JBuilder model...
