How do you know that isn't something they are considering? Once again the
fact they haven't said so doesn't mean it isn't under consideration - I'm
sure they would be trying to weigh the benefits of leveraging existing work
versus rolling their own. Should they roll their own, you can be reasonably
sure they would investigate existing work as part of research in order to
better their own design.
