that'qs the curse of a newsgroup. On one Linux list I belong to, the web based application, allows the OP to update the header of it's first comment and add "Solved" so it make a) life very easy b) fantastic for newbies who can find very efficiently what they need.

Also being web based, you do not quote or just the small part you really want to, because the thread is readily available.

You also have features like 'see answers to threads I was involved in' to quickly follow up on a conversation.

May be something to revisit ?
