Re: Very Happy With CodeGear Spin-Off

Hi,

First you say : CodeGear is independent.

Then you say : We are as independent now as we would have been with any other buyer.

This latter statement is patently not true since if you were self-owned you would be wholly, incontrovertibly, completely and utterly independent. Which is MORE independent than you are as a wholly owned subsidiary.

The first statement is also not strictly true - you are a wholly owned subsidiary. That makes you a separate legal entity, but it absolutely makes you the almost exact opposite of independent.

Any freedom you have to run the business is in the gift of your owner - Borland. And yes this would be true of any other owner. So what, that's not the point.

The point is you say you are independent - you aren't.

In Febuary Borland said it will sell DTG to a investor, not a DTG itself. In these content Nick is rigth becuase the self owned TG never was a vianble option. Nick is try to do the best with the resources it has right now and he will be maximize it in the future.

Other like present their point of view and like Chad present dificult solution but posible, what you ask is very imposible for nick:

1. He can't buy codegears
2. He can't run the financial department and be product manager at the same time

but he can use the limted fredom wich don't have before to try making Delphi shine again and make Codegear a great companu thru thier products.

Expresing consenrs and sugestions is a good think but even you need 9 months and some work from your parents to born, please give Codegear to prove itself.

regards,
Dennis
