I would tend to agree with Dave. Beta versions come commonly, better said should come along with a feature freeze.

Does is make that much sense to change the code, which may introduce new bugs or hide existing bugs in the current betas ? When does the introduction of new features stop ? If you continue to introduce new features then you never will reach the release candidate stage.

What you are describing is not beta leve, but *release candidate* level.

I tend to disagree. IMHO the definition of a release candidate is that the version has been beta tested and all known bugs are fixed.

Also I think introducing new features in the beta phase leads to much more banana software. (Software that "ripes" on the clients computer).
