John,

I think we've had enough discussion.

I think it is time for everyone to put up or shut up.
Then we can just agree to politely disagree.

Looks like we need some context.

The original deal was that John Jacobson was saying that
DevCo would *not* be sold and that in fact, there would be
staff reductions.

We called him on it, and a bet was made.
John: DevCo would not be sold by the end of the year.
Bruce: Yes it would.

I was gone for a couple of days and missed out on the betting
arrangements, and it seemed impolite to pile on.

At the same time, a bet was made about there being 20%
staff reductions within 6 months from the time DevCo
was spun off.

I don't see the original discussion right off, but here are a couple
of posts by John and Bruce referencing it.

This makes me hope even more that I lose my bet about 30% staff
reduction >
within six months of the actual spin-off. It also makes me think I am far
more
likely to lose that bet!

Note that John has a typo here. The original bet was 20%.

Now, the spin off has been announced, and in fact DevCo was not sold.
There was some debate about who won, but given the original terms of
the bet it had to be sold for Bruce to win and it was not.

John now seems to have lost his confidence that he had right after Nick
was named PM, and is again predicting staff reductions.

I am just suggesting another round of bets on the issue.
And I'm hoping to get in on them this time, on the positive side of course.
Does that help?

HTH,
Brad.
