They already are. The server doesn't retain anything over 30 days old.

That said, I accept requests to cancel posts by email only; I trace
the headers back to the source to verify the authenticity of the sender
(as much as possible) before cancelling the posts. Newsgroup posts are
only marginally verifiable so I don't cancel based on newsgroup
requests unless I have a strong reason to believe that the person
requesting is the same as the person who posted.
