Again, I'm not sure if "better" is the right way to describe theHave you taken a look at Morfik (www.morfik..com).
different choices. I think for most Delphi developers they will feel
most comfortable with IntraWeb first, and ASP.NET second. This is
because both offer rich UI designers and component based development.
My personal perspective is that all this stuff is moving really quickly
and I'm not sure who is going to "win" marketshare/mindshare; I doubt
there will be a winner at all. But what I have seen is that those
emphasizing tools/ides are behind the tech curve because of the effort
required for full client/server/tool integration.
They have an IDE and you can choice between 1 of 4 languages:
Pascal, C#, Basic and Java.
They have a patent pending technology that converts high level languages
down to AJAX code.
You never have to touch any HTML.
Their Pascal has the same syntax as Delphi.
Your applications will have a built-in Apache web server...so deployment is
a snap.
Just compile, copy and run.
They will be releasing a new version in the beginning of January, but you
can download an older version from their website.
They also have some very cool demos with such thing like GMail, Actual Chess
game that can be played on-line, Ping-Pong, show off DoJo, show off
Script.aculo.us (http://cooleffects.labs.morfik.com/),
and many more.
I think this is the KILLER app!!
