I do have a Delphi-based invention that I am not willing to share due
to commercial constraints, but I figure that there are lots of Delphi
inventions which sounded good on paper, but which (like mine) didn't
work in practice.
I had an idea a few years ago that it would be great to have source control
at the object and class member level, not at the file level. This way two or
more people could work on the same file at the same time. You would check
in/out methods instead of files. Never sat down to work on it though,
because as soon as I looked at the way the rtti stuff in Delphi was
undocumented I realized it would be an uphill battle at best.
