With all the talk of other non-Delphi web server technologies floating
around I thought I'd write the following:

I don't understand why a Delphi Developer would feel the need to adopt a
non-delphi web server technology platform if he/she already knew how to
build a web server with Delphi...

Maybe because of the hosting price? Linux hosting for eur 3,-/month.
Dedicated Windows server >Eur 200/month

Yes, that's one good reason not to use a Microsoft OS-dependent technology
at all. I for one like to use Yahoo as my webhost for lots of scenarios and
the only server tech available is PHP. But, PHP will only take you so
far...

Where I find delphi internet servers worthwhile is where I have the need for
a highly complex, performance sensitive application. In these types of
scenarios I find it quite invigorating to take control of my custom
webserver directly, and the business case will justfiy hosting or renting
your own server.

http://servermatrix.com frequently has some good deals.
