Thanks! I have added it to my tool-box.

You're welcome.
As mentioned, when making public websites(at least here in DK), it's
required to conform to at least level AA.

Another usefull tool when validating pages under IE:
http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/widgets/
look under "HTML Validation WiDGet"
This 'installs' a right click menu to validate the current page.
This has been an invaluable tool for me as well.

However, they seem to think web sites are static.

This: "Browser Compatibility" has no point unless the application
iterates through all common browsers and their versions and identifies
itself as each and one of those to see what code my web application
returns.

I am not sure what you mean here. Here in DK, it is all about using
*standards* and not browser specific HTML/CSS/ECMAScript.

I know that IE is is lightyears behind, but rumors says, that IE 7 shold be
more standard compliant.
I don't know, because I am happy with my Win2K + Delphi 7.

I can however see a hard time coming for those IE centric systems, since all
the hacks to get IE to work probably wont work as designed with IE7.

Since IE7 wont be available for 'older' systems, it will be interesting to
see if
IE7 forces a win upgrade
or
Users switch to Firefox.

Speaking of Firefox: If you haven't already, you should really take a look
at their DOM inspector and their Javascript console.
