If you turn it off you
might just as well disable your firewall, virus scanner etc. etc.
Firstly, I don't use a virus scanner
Secondly, there is a difference between preventing the burglar from
breaking in and preventing him stealing when he first is in.
However, that is not the main reason why I haven't turned it off - I
am currently doing pre-release testing. A significant percentage of
my customers are not likely to discover how to turn UAC off so I
really need to know whether anything unexpected is going to happen to
them when they are running my apps.
Sure, but in this case I would use a "clean" virtual machine.
