I think what everyone's forgetting is that, until after the final release

Huh? The final release was yesterday (30 Jan). I bought my copy of Vista Home Premium off the shelf at the local stationery store.
Actually Vista was released in late Nov to the business market and there has been no changes made in the Jan 30th release to the consumer market. Microsoft made it very plain before the Nov release that it would be the same as the Jan 30th release so anyone who really wants to test against the final release has already lost two months.
Also be aware that you can buy the OEM version much cheaper than the retail version and recently Microsoft clarified it's position on single user purchase of the OEM version, provided you are aware of the difference between OEM and retail.
