What I'm worried about is the main Windows Explorer interface.
All the screenshots I've seen show file icons as massive thumbnails.
Can the Details view still be set as default, and can file extensions
and hidden files still be displayed?

Yes.

Can the full directory path still be displayed?

Yes.

And are there any improvements, such as being able to sort by file
extension

You've always been able to sort by file type. Not sure if that's what you meant. You can finally search any folder for files of an extension and see the results immediately though, which is VERY nice. I.e. you can dig into Windows\System32, type bpl in the search box and immediately see the bpl's in your System32 folder.

, or display the actual file size in bytes (useful for
very small files).

Nope.

Also, when copying files around with Explorer, have they finally
got a 'Yes to All' button on the dialog which actually does what it says?
I always seem to have to click 'Yes to All' about 3 times when copying folders
around!

Copying is vastly improved. Better prompts. Errors are gathered until the end when they are displayed after the rest of the files have been copied.
