btw - OP was clearly "buried" in the Delphi messaging from the beginning,
but Delphi v1-v5 the language is referred to as the "Object Pascal language
used by Delphi" v6+ referred to as "Delphi, an Object Pascal based
language" - wasn't a product mgmt call or strategy- there was a heated D vs
OP community debate on it that I believe dev rel or some group wanted
settled. My recollection isn't clear on how the trigger was pulled to start
calling the language "Delphi language" instead of "Object Pascal" - but it
was hotly debated and was pretty split internally at Borland.
Even C++Builder was originally to be named "Delphi C++" - until a new
"Builder will be the name of all products in Borland" policy. Fortunately
Delphi escaped being called "AppBuilder", but you can find reminents of the
name, blechh.
personalities), renaming a language the same name as the IDE framework
makes very little sense in my opinion.
Agree! Unless you want it to seem like a "magical black box solution".
