Hi

I have seen howls of protest over the choice of the name "Delphi
for PHP" for Codegear's new PHP offering.

The protests have good reason to exist. Delphi for PHP don't make
much sense to long time Delphi users.... what to expect from new ones?

I /really/ do not get it:

- are we going to criticise every single move Codegear makes ?
- are we not collectively more interested in CodeGear producing good
and reliable tools (which clearly they are in the process of doing)
more than criticising every thing under the sun ?
- who are we to demand that CodeGear justifies every decision ? Have
you ever called BillG to ask why Vista is called Vista and not
StupiDows 2007 ? or WinBug 2030 ? and if you did as he answered ?

<sarcasm>
I am amazed at the number of Marketing/Market/Compiler/Systems/Tools
experts we have in this Newsgroup, I feel priviledged to be allowed to
be a witness of such a downpour of wisdom.

As I said a number of times here, let's judge CodeGear by the results:
- if D2007 is not what we expect then burn them
- if Spacely is not what it should be, burn them
- if D4PHP does not stand on it's own 2 feet (for a first release)
burn them

Disclaimer: when I say "Burn Them" it is CLEARLY an image, not a call
for action. Just in case.....:)

In the meantime, dear "experts", do you genuinely believe it is wise to
force the CodeGear team to spend so many hours a day defending,
explaining, argumenting, any decision they make or disspelling
FUD, whislt they have many more pressing things to do ? Spending time
here is costing them time, money, energy and this in turn is bad for US.
