Actually 1$ is too cheap. Currently almost any popular software can be
bought for 100..120 roubles which is roughly equivalent of USD$4.5. If you
don't need support of course. Delphi is highly popular, however people
perefer to use not licensed software. A developer with a montly salary about
USD ~$800 (i'm don't talk abouth _rich_ moscow guys) just unable to buy
neither Delphi nor Windows nor any other software.
Recently i made small study. I offered following question. "Imagine you
cannot use pirated software and you must either buy Vista or move to Linux.
How much you CAN pay for Vista?" There was wide range of answers but it was
$30..35 in average. So people willing to pay, just according to their
abilities.
