Didn't you write?:
Even short of prosecution, statements in a roadmap can now, because of SOX, affect *when* CodeGear might be allowed to realize revenue from sales. As per Nick's explanation previously, it is possible to end up in a situation where they have many $millions sitting in the bank from sales, but are not allowed to touch it until some future quarter - because the government, as above, has decided that those purchases were made only with the expectation of something to be released in that future quarter. Thus it is now possible for a company to go bankrupt even while sitting on more than enough cash to pay all bills.

Finally, there are no rules as to how to tell in advance whether govenrment may decide something warrants withholding revenue, or laying charges, or not, one can only find out *after* the fact. So publishing a roadmap that
So after Borland Legal goes through the SOX and the roadmap, then
they can determine the permissibility of publishing the said
roadmap? Or have they done it and stated a resounding "Don't
even *think* about publishing that).
actually says anything substantial is essentially gambling - like placing your neck under a guillotine and *then* insulting the King.
No. Invalid analogy. That isn't gambling. Gambling is when there is
always that 10-30% you'd win. In this case, the outcome
usually begins with a "click" then and swish, and finally a
chump then *thump* and roll. But I digress. :)
