David,
For now you can reinstall with the Delphi07Setup.zip - it will re d/l the
necessary packages for the language (eng/ger/fre/japanese) that you choose
to install. We plan work out a way to allow you to do install backups, our
original thought did not pan out, (there was miscommunication on how this
"would work" and Nick and I immediately repeated it) but we will still work
something out either instructions, procedure, or utility. Until then you can
still reinstall over the web. We won't let the 30day timelimit trigger
unless we have a backup procedure in place for you first.
We won't leave you in the lurch.

Nick,
I sent you an email about this but haven't received a reply, in case it
went
to the bit bucket in the sky here it is again.
I need a backup so I can upgrade to Vista. I tried to buy the media kit as
you suggested when I asked you about this in the coderage session, but the
Australian site doesn't allow the purchase of the media kit by itself.
My core concern is that the digital river site says the download is only
available for 30 days. So the clock is ticking for me to make a backup. If
this is not the case then I really don't care, if for some reason I need
to
reinstall I'll just download again. Can I just backup the
Delphi07Setup.zip
and use this to download the files if necessary?
What I need is some way to reinstall Delphi 2007 if for some reason my PC
has a seizure. At the moment I have an outstanding risk that if something
happens to the Delphi installation and it's after 30 days from my purchase
date then I'm up the river. I'll have to buy another copy of Delphi 2007
this time with the media kit - not really acceptable.
So which of these is possible:
1) The 30 day limit only applies to the Delphi07Setup.exe and I can use
this
to reinstall Delphi by downloading any time in the future
2) Fix the Australian site so I can buy the media kit
3) Codegear supplies an ISO
If number 1 is true then a backup doesn't matter, I can just download it
again.
As I mentioned in my email this is causing me to hold up my test and
release
on Vista. The only solution I have at the moment is buy another PC with
Vista and *hope* my PC with Delphi doesn't go bang, or implement a
corporate
level offsite backup with daily refreshes, seems like overkill.
thanks,
Dave Ninnes

Any progress on this?
I'm not sure how this is going to work yet. We are working on it and
trying to figure it out. The ISO is rather large, so it's not a simple
solution.
