Not if the market suddenly plunges.
And that is what happened to ReShape. Their software sales were poor and
could not be increased fast enough to make them profitable.
However, Jim was able to negotiate to sell their assets and intellectual
property to Magma Design Systems, thus ensuring that the investors still
got some return on their investment.
And that might have been the best he could do; but regardless of the
circumstances, the CEO *is* responsible. Just as every employee in the
organization is responsible for doing their part.
So you can be sure that Codegear will be in capable hands.
I don't have any idea if Jim is capable or not. The only thing I'm sure
of is that regardless of what happens with CodeGear, I have capable
hands. :)
