Delphi in virtualized Vista (XP) guest

Hi,
I am considering to move my whole development environment to a virtualized (VMware) platform and would be happy if somebody who had experience with such a setup could give me some advice.
[My current system is Windows 2000. I know the VMware Workstation but only use it to test programs (and for server related things)].
- does D2007 work well in a Vista guest environment?
- would it (at this time, i.e. vista is new, no SP1 yet) be better to choose an XP guest instead of vista? Does it make a lot of difference (speedwise and for space)?
- did somebody run it on a Mac with the Fusion beta? Experiences?
- are 2 GB RAM sufficient?
- any other important things good to know...?
It's quite difficult for me to choose a specific setup. Thanks a lot for any help.
Hans-Peter
