If I misunderstood, and you were suggesting a one-off activation (within
30 days of purchase) which would return a perpetual licence which could be
backed up, and you could use should future reinstallation be necessary
(for whichever developer on whatever machine is most suitable at that
future time), then I apologise.
That is what I was suggesting, but no need to apologise for not spotting it
:-)
This is almost what we have now, except I am not sure whether or not you get
a 30 day grace period or not at the start.
But then a backed-up licence which allowed a reinstall without on-line
reactivation could be copied to any number of other machines, so that
can't be what you meant either?
Yes, that is what I meant. What is wrong with copying it to multiple
machines? The license info could be displayed in the splash screen on
loading + about box. If anyone audits a company they will see 1 license
being used on multiple machines, if nobody audits the company then they can
get away with whatever they want to anyway.
