What language is your Windows in? Sometimes the English (US) version of
Windows contain later versions of .exe:s, dll:s etc. than the
translated ones. There's also the possibility of the translation
thrashing parts of Windows (buffer overruns because the translation is
too long for the original Microsoft code).
