In OE it was Ctrl-H, but I can't find corresponding in TB.

Yes, it's all or nothing in tbird. IMO, it's not horrible except for
monster threads.
If I finish reading the interesting posts in a group
I can mark the group as read. If another post
comes in, how do I view it?
type "N".
The treeview on the left shows that there are new messages
but they don't show up on the right until I leave the NG
and come back.
"N" get me "Advance to next unread message in 'nextnewsgroup'?
Yes No"
Just as if there were no new messages.
