Like each Delphi release... it's was same for D2005, D2006 and now D2007...
I think AW mean pay upgrade ok, but for user's who paid for D2005 and
D2006, the news on D2007 is mainly bug fix and improvement IDE and Vista
support. So the upgrade price will be less for this user (D2005, D2006)
than Delphi 5,6,7 user.

Ok.
I've tolerated D2005 since I was unfortunate enough to buy it.
Someone please explain to me why I should spend £270.
There are multiple blog posts around talking about all the feature
changes. Plenty of people have blogged about what they love in D2007.
This newsgroup is full of people championing it, as well as saying it's
not worth it. I'd suggest doing a bit of research.
A few things off the top though:
- If you're a C# developer then obviously this isn't the upgrade for you,
wait until BDS 2007.
- If you develop in C#, C++, J# and for Pocket PCs then what are you even
messing around with Delphi for? Buy VS2005 and get cracking! Pick the
right tool for the job. There is no perfect language or perfect IDE for
every situation and if you need all those languages VS will be a much
better option. If you don't use those languages then they're just fluff
features and you've been tricked by marketing into thinking you're getting
"more" for your money. If you're not actively using something then it's
just wasted space on your disk.
- Comparing "all that you get" in VS2005 with what you get in D2007 is an
apples to oranges comparison. If all your code and skills are in Delphi
then it doesn't matter if VS2005 gives you every language in the world for
free if it doesn't have Delphi.
- If you're concerned about price and don't care about language then pick
up VS2005 C# Express Edition, it's free. Or check out the Turbo Editions.
- If you need to worry about Vista-ready applications D2007 is your best
option, though there are still a few things here and there. At least
D2007 is trying to be fully Vista ready. Orcas, the version of Visual
Studio that will actually produce Vista-ready apps, is still in beta.
- There are quite a few speed and stability improvements in D2007, but
based on your development you might never see those. There are hundreds
of fixes from D2005 to D2007.
- Keep an open mind or decide it's not worth it. If you're already
against it then all the arguments for it in the newsgroup won't do any
good, they'll just create a huge flame thread of people on either side
airing their opinions.
- Again, read up on the *many* blog posts talking about the changes.
Might I suggest a Google search with the words "Delphi 2007". Perhaps
start with this:
http://hallvards.blogspot.com/2007/03/review-delphi-2007-for-win32-beta-part.html
But please don't stop there, like I said, doing some actual research might
help answer your question.
