And as more component vendors add support for FPC why wouldn't one also consider it a viable option for targeting Win32 which causes me to muse, "isn't there a fox in the hen house"?
You must have forgotten to swallow your capitalims appreciation pills this morning ;). Competition is a good thing, as it forces both sides to innovate more and drive technological advancement. Even Bill and Steve realize and admit that (http://tinyurl.com/2b95cr).
How quickly you jump to the wrong conclusion, my entire business ethos is based on free market capitalism. But as smart farmers know, unless they are ever vigilant, foxes will get in their hen houses and once inside the fox makes short work of killing off the chickens that lay the golden eggs.
In the Bill and Steve video, at one point in it's history they spoke of Apple as a ship with a hole in it's bottom. That reminded me of the unsinkable Titanic which, if I remember correctly, sank when an iceberg breached it's hull plates allowing water to fill it's forward water-tight compartments thus allowing something to happen that the designer hadn't foreseen, because the ship wasn't on an even keel the water ran over the top of the water-tight bulkheads . As the ship's bow nosed down from the weight of the water, the ship broke apart and sunk beneath the waves. In less than three hours it was all over.
Often organizations think they are unsinkable and by the time they realize that they are under siege they are unable to react with sufficient vigor to stave off the attack of the barbarians at the gate. But of course that couldn't happen to CodeGear nee Borland, heck people have been saying for years that they were dying and it never happened...
