What you are really saying is that you think we should get permission from
participants before cancelling posts, that this group should be run as some
sort of democracy. That's like saying that baseball umpires should tabulate
a vote by everyone in the stands to decide if someone was out at a base and
have no right to make that decision by themselves - but if that were really
so then there'd be no reason to have umpires - and there'd also be no way to
complete a baseball game *at all* let alone in some reasonable amount of
time.

The moderators of *any* moderated group do not need to answer to the group
for the reasons they cancel any post and to do so would simply make
conditions *worse* than if there was no moderation at all because it
explicitly *invites* armchair umpires to question every call.
