Oh, yes, and the Borland Australia online shop doesn't have D2007
Pro upgrade listed
(http://store.digitalriver.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayCategoryProductListPage&SiteID=borland&Locale=en_AU&Env=BASE&categoryID=628800)
- good to see after all these years they're as incompetent as ever.
Yes - it's not obvious. If you click on the D2007 Pro 'Buy Now'
button on that page you will see the upgrade price:
Professional Upgrade: 520.00AUD
Unless I'm going blind there is no D2007 Pro "Buy Now" button on that
page. There's one on the codegear.com.au homepage but that just opens
up the shop link. In fact, every "buy now" button just opens up the
online shop link and if I select Australia then I always end up at
the page I linked to and D2007 Pro upgrade simply isn't there. Not
even if I View Source and ^F for it.
OK, I found it, but the link is not called "D2007 Pro". For the record, the
link is called "Delphi 2007 for Win32 - ESD". There's no mention of SKU.
Next to the "Buy Now" button is a price - 1,213.63AUD (excluding GST).
That's the Pro new user price, although there's no hint of that. Clicking
that link brings up a page with D2007 Enterprise and Professional SKU new
user and upgrade prices. Ditto the "Delphi 2007 for Win32 - DVD" link.
So, the actual D2007 Pro upgrade ESD price is $572, and the DVD price is
$610.
Fortunately there are third party resellers who not only know how to design
easily navigable web pages but are cheaper too, since Borland (that's what
it says, not CodeGear) clearly wants to discourage direct sales. La plus ca
change...
