Glossy screens are pure crap for doing any sort of work. Unfortunately,
style is winning over ergonomics, so choices are more limited getting a
decent system with a matte screen.
This is completely untrue. They are perfectly fine and in fact look better than non-glossy screens. They only may "act like a mirror" (and that's being glib) when the thing is turned off! Otherwise it's perfectly fine and better than matte. That's why they are so popular. If they were crap then they would not be selling. Go for glossy, you won't regret it.
