I think that depends to a large extent on the location. Any time I have a light source behind me, I find that I cannot use a glossy screen for any length of time. I only use my glossy laptop for doing software demos on the road, and looked for a long time to find a matte monitor for the office, because there are lights above and behind me that make the glossy screen unusable for me in the office. I won't be buying any more glossy screens for my own use.
