Does anyone have experience with glossy TFT's?
Are they usable at all for program development work or
do you regret having one?

I really regret having one. As I type this I can see a distracting amount
of the room behind me in the reflection. Also, the glare for the overhead
light is terrible. I know some folks really like the glossy screens, so if
you can spend some time with one in a store it may help you decide.

The screen on my Toshiba is bad enough that even my wife said, "Wow that
screen stinks, you won't have that long."
