For software products there is no reason it should be that way.
But it apparently is.
The fact there IS a difference for some products, doesn't mean there has to
be. I have listed several examples where there are no difference.
And please leave out the VAT issue. That applies to be non-professionals /
hobbyists only. Try to compare apples to apples instead of apples to
oranges.
