What has this to do with the price of an ESD version?
No physical goods are shipped or handled at all.
What has physical or not have to do with the cost of the resources that went
into developing the *product* that is being purchased? It is *Delphi* being
purchased, not merely a DVD or the few cents in server time to dispense an
ESD copy.
Each release of Delphi, *the product*, costs some $millions when you count
the salaries and benefits of the entire Delphi team, management, and other
related corporate costs (building, communications, taxes, etc). It is
perfectly proper to charge a price that reflects the actual costs of
producing it and making a reasonable profit *based on those costs*, rather
than selling at any significantly lower price (and thus no per unit profit)
just for the altruistic goal of making it more affordable to some.
