Re: Very quick/simple question

Sorry, I did not see those types of problems when I installed the Modified
BDS2006 packages into Delphi 2007. Went smooth as silk for me. AsynPro and
Abbrevia.

I spoke too soon.

I'm trying to load Async Pro for use within C++ Builder. When I check the
'build DCUs' box in linker options, everything goes find (a few minor
warnings, nothing major). When I check the 'all C++ Builder files' box,
it appears to make the BPL but gives 61 warnings (instead of 7), and does
NOT generate any C++ files (no header files, nothing).

A sample warning is along the lines of:

[DCC Warning] AdITapi.pas(119):W1025 Unsupported language feature
'dispinterface'

While the old paradigm (that I'm used to) of having a separate program
called Delphi and another one called C++ Builder meant I had to compile
components using two different packages, I had control over them to the
extent that they would 'work' in their respective programs.

Now, they are both being 'housed' in an entity called 'RAD Studio'. I'm
told by folks that they are no compatible with each other (i.e., VCL is
the same, etc.) rather than having C++ being the X.1 versions. However, I
would appreciate any input/feedback as to what may be causing this problem
(what the warning/error message is being caused by, and how to get the
program to actually generate the C++ files).

As a separate but related issue, I created a package file of my own (not
compiled yet because I couldn't load the needed .BPL files from the
AsyncPro tools), and I saved my 'interim' version of the project file.

When I reload that file, NOTHING is there. In fact, it doesn't even tell
me that anything has loaded. It is staring me straight in the face on the
'welcome' screen of the program, but clicking on that does nothing.
Mnaually doing 'file|project open' does nothing either (but the file is
there -- haven't looked at the contents of the file in a hex editor yet).

Is this yet another issue with the product? I.e., if the project file
has not been finished and/or compiled, it doesn't actually save the
information already entered?

ANY help will be much appreciated. My sarcasm/cynicism will be dialed
back for the duration... <G>
