There were no Delphi/ADO-related problems here making that transition.

The only SQLserver2005 difference that I have got explicitly noted is that

AdoConnection.OpenSchema ( siColumns,... )

sometimes (always?) puts brackets round non-null COLUMN_DEFAULT values - even for numeric values
