Both Norton and Adobe have made me pretty upset with their updaters.
Even a good update that jumps in the middle of my work is unacceptable.
What you may be able to do is to download the update, or a script that
will run the update, then run it later, or let the user run it later.
You can give a message that the update has been downloaded and is ready
to run. If they need an admin to run it, they can arrange that. But you
also need to give them a way to discard it, instead of repeatedly
getting a message that they have already decided they don't want to do.
