I'm sure he is looking for it for the same reasons that I am...

The benefit of having an online newsgroup reader/writer is that you wouldn't ever re-read articles because it would keep the status of all messages you've read. So, if you read newsgroups on multiple systems you see the benefit. I would also find this useful. I currently read newsgroups on three different systems (desktop Vista, desktop XP, and my XP laptop).
