I've never really understood why text found through Search..Find (Ctrl+F) is not highlighted (selected) normally. In most systems you can search for a piece of text and then cut or copy it (etc.), but Delphi doesn't actually select it (unless I am missing something).

For example, search for a piece of text and then press the delete key: it doesn't delete the text you searched for, but the character after it.

Agreed! In fact, the found text is highlighted rather than selected, and the behaviour you mention is out of line with any other editor I've tried.
