Delphi's editor feels more like home than anything else.
I guess that's kind of the thing for most of us, because we use one editor
extensively and our brain and fingers get trained on it, and it is hard to
switch to another. Twenty-some years ago I had to switch to the Unix vi
editor, and went kicking and screaming. I hated it. But then I got used to
it, and have used it almost exclusively since then. My brain is so well
trained for vi, that when I edit in the Delphi editor, I always end up with
a big long string of jjjjjjjjj or kkkkkkk in the middle of lines when I'm
trying to scroll up or down, and of course I have to go back and clean all
that up (I do that sometimes in Outlook Express, too). So I end up only
using the Delphi editor for making quick code changes when a compile fails,
and I do all the serious editing outside of Delphi with vi. Training breeds
habits, and habits are hard to break!
