Re: Older QC reports

John,
Let's let your "Whiners" accusation of me slide.

I've submitted a number of items to QC over at least 5 years. Some have
been fixed, some have been acknowledged. Most have not. Those that have
took 2-3 years. It's been so long I started calculating how long it
takes in years to get results.

I recognize the difference between the newsgroups and QC, and I think I
use them appropriately. And I know QC contains some information that
Codegear developers can go to when it may be useful. Other times I
think its coincidence if something happens to get fixed.
There have been times when someone was tasked with going back and
updating QC after a version was released. I'm sure that's a PITA. Kind
of indicates that wasn't what they were working from.
I don't expect everything to be fixed, or even confirmed as a problem.
But when it takes 2-3 years for even the good stuff to get through,
well, maybe you expect positive rather than negative customer
reactions, but I can understand other feelings.

I suspect too, that there are sections of functionality that get more
attention than others. My interests are not on the cutting edge and
may get less attention.

You ask me to cite one example. Just look at the open reports. Many are
years old. Some with no acknowledgement at all. You expect a good
reaction from that?

I really get the sense that CG would like to terminate QC. I don't feel
like anyone has that as their responsibility.
